I assume these are newly emerged butterflies, that will soon over winter and sleep over till next spring

So Oct 4 2015, one Mourning cloak came out again.
And March 31,2016 both were out, half a dozen of them around the next few days.
looking a little tattered but having made it it through winter.
is it the hoary comma?

ReplyDeleteOct 12 2016 I returned last night from 10 days living in a cabin far in Yukon wilds. Each day, during my stay 1 or more Comma Butterflies appeared inside the cabin to a total of 16. How, why?
