I think this butterfly is biennial , meaning it's cycle is two years, next year i suppose it will be a caterpillar, and in 2019 we hope to see it as a butterfly again.

Arctic

possibly a Chrycus Arctic

 first two photos two Arctics in the yard.

Later that day a different Arctic in the forest. is it just a different Chrycus Arctic or is it a Jutta Arctic
